“To describe my mother would be to write about a hurricane in its perfect power. Or the climbing, falling colors of a rainbow.”

My journey as a single Mom began when I was 6 weeks pregnant, recently divorced and alone - my nearest family a continent away. I’m now 10+ years into this great adventure, and while being a Single Mom at times can feel like climbing Mt Everest without oxygen, it has been the best thing that has ever happened to me. My child is undoubtedly my biggest gift and my North Star - the reason and purpose I needed to get my act together - and to keep pushing forward.
It also made me take full accountability for my actions and my life. Instead of feeling I was in a row boat tossed in the waves with no control, I realized it was my job to grab the helm and chart a course for the two of us to create a life we loved.
I restarted from ground zero. As JK Rowling said herself, a single mother writing Harry Potter in a cafe while her infant child slept, “rock bottom turned out to be a very solid foundation on which to build my life.” It did for me too.
I definitely do not have all of the answers. Being a Single Mother Goddess to me just means striving to do my best.
I started the Single Mother Goddess blog because when I was pregnant and alone, this was exactly the kind of resource I searched for, but could not find; someone who had walked my path and could tell me that not only would my child and I be just fine as our own family unit - but that we would thrive and achieve a level of happiness and a life I never thought possible.
To date we’ve gone on Safari in South Africa, held a koala in Australia, eaten freshly made pasta in Italy, stayed at a castle in Ireland, visited Buckingham Palace in London, gone hiking in New Zealand and even been snorkeling in Cuba. I own a marketing agency that I absolutely love, I work with amazing clients doing incredible things, I have a supremely talented team to support me and I’m able to work most of the time from my home office. We live with our four dogs and five horses on beautiful green rolling pastures with a limitless blue sky.
I had none of this when I started out as a single mom.
